# 請禁宰耕牛戰馬疏

## 白话译文

臣近来自从担任补阙，擢升（阙）员外，守刑法之司，不是谏诤之任。虽然越职干议，典制固所不容，而作为臣子事奉君主，闻见应当无所隐瞒。臣晚间在相国寺内，忽然看见聚众杀病瘦马，或说是奉旨宣赐。臣愚昧所见，私下有感伤。大凡天下耕牛，不可宰杀。有所犯者，罪在无赦。国家切有禁防，盖以力耕为用。如今的瘦马，也有前劳。这都是久历战征，备经辛苦。以致筋齿疏尨，饮啮细微，振奋不能，废损及此。应当在佛寺被众军人以布巾蒙其头，大䦆锤其胸，及刳剥之际，为观者所伤。方今时未销兵，军非厌马。木曜方临于郑分，銮舆暂幸于梁园。诚能回赐与之恩，亦悯伤之旨。何况京师之内，不同于营寨之中。况且军人米粮，无所乏缺。病马肌肉，不济京炮。伏望明敕所司，应有病散令宣赐要者任便喂养，显示不杀之恩。念羸牛之力耕，犹存令式。恤老马之苦战，愿立新规。臣谬列清朝，无裨圣运。苟有所见，合具上闻。
