## 白话译文

从前燕昭王用千金买骏马骨，而百代称颂。并不只是朽骨可贵，其用意一定在于将来的良马罢了。如今亚之仰慕阁下的风范而进到面前，恭敬地听说阁下又不因我朽钝而顾念我，难道鄙人值得顾念吗，我的名声能没有将来吗？这是鄙人的身价冒犯了千金，幸运得很，幸运得很！如今有彷徨不安的诚意，敢表露肝胆，伏惟听察。亚之先前在京师应贡举，而长幼骨肉，像浮萍一样寄居在吴，没有咫尺土地的居所，来托付自己的衣食供给。早晨经营白天，白天经营傍晚。像这样共三次被礼部黜落，被黜落就回去。从二月到十一月，晨驰暮走，使仆马不生病，就尚且忙碌。如果有一天被霜露欺侵，气力失理，那么一室人向门盼望的心就无望了。如今忘记辛勤劳苦，扶老携幼，乞食向西。虽然已经达到糊口，但仍然困于所积蓄的，不能自给，只能涕泣空语，没有可仰仗的。又揣度天下王公，希望可以拿这话告诉的，只有阁下了。伏惟分一天的恩泽来滋润我，不要让亚之再被朽骨所笑。谨再拜。
