## 白话译文

臣私下依据秦汉皇太后临朝称制的先例，都根据礼经正文。天子七庙，诸侯五庙，这是百王不变的义理，万代常行的法度，未有越礼违古而擅自裁订仪注的。如今周悰另外引浮泛之议，广述异文，只崇尚临朝权宜之仪，不依国家常度。升崇先之庙为七，降国家之庙为五。臣听说皇图广阔开辟，实在崇重宗社的尊严。帝业宏基，实在等同山河的坚固。伏以天步多艰，时逢遏密。代天理物，自古有之。伏惟皇太后亲承顾托，忧勤黎庶，接纳孝慈的请求，垂示矜抚的胸怀，实所谓光显大猷，恢崇圣载。那崇先庙室，合同诸侯之数；国家宗庙，不合辄有移变。臣的愚直，都依正礼，周悰的请求，实乖古仪。
