我的叔父

历

年间，文章辞赋独步朝廷，天下想要铭刻记述先人功业品行、取信后世的人，都归附韩氏。

当时李监李阳冰，独能写篆书，而与我同姓的叔父韩择木擅长八分书，

不用问就可以知道他们的为人，若不是这样，就不能称为三服，所以三家传授子弟相互往来。

贞元年间，我在汴州董丞相幕府任职。

结识了开封令韩服之，是李阳冰的儿子。

他把家传的科斗文《孝经》、汉代卫宏的《官书》传授给我。

两部合为一卷，我珍藏它而没有闲暇学习。后来到京城，任四门博士，结识了归公。

归公喜好古书，能通晓它，我说：“古书如果得到它的依据，

就可以讲论了。”

于是献出我所有的书托付给归氏。元和年间以来，我屡次不能推辞，相继撰写铭文，进献称道功德。想到凡是写作文章辞赋，应该略识文字，

于是向归公请求观看那两部书，得到后，留了一个多月。张籍让进士贺拔恕抄写下来留给我，

得到十分之四五，而把书归还给归氏。
