# 上何都督履光書

## 白话译文

崔国辅谨上书于都督何公节下；昨有自府廷而退者，云君公垂责，以为怠于奉上之礼，死罪死罪。窃闻礼不妄说人，为近佞媚也；不好狎，自全仁义也。故教训正俗，非礼不备；君臣上下，非礼勿定；宦学事师，非礼勿亲。所以君子恭敬撙节，退让以明礼；修身践言，合道以成礼。今人无礼，多涉于佞媚，不全于仁义，故以难进而易退孜孜善行者为失礼。悲夫！古之有礼者则贵，今之有礼者则贱，虽然，君子修身，终不弃礼为苟容。《诗》云：“风雨如晦，鸡鸣不已。”言善人不拘俗也。国辅常见君公有谋赞之能，明恤之量，敢以大雅之道而事君公，殊不知君公以凡徒见待。君公闻叔向乎？闻张良乎？夫叔向者不能言，退然不胜衣，为晋国之望，张良妇人也，而懦夫下辈，宜君公不礼。萧曹为刀笔吏，碌碌无奇节；百里奚在虞而虞亡，在秦而秦霸；屈原之忠贞逐于楚，张仪之利口鞭于梁：皆士之屯蒙，莫能自异，仆今日复何言哉！
