封禪用玉牒奏

谨按司马彪《续汉书》，建武三十二年封太山，求元封故事所施用者，有司奏用玉牒书，藏方石中，厚五寸，长尺三寸，广五寸；有玉检，厚二寸，长短阔狭，一如玉牒。又按《说文》云：“简，牒也。”则知牒是简之别名，且牒是片竹，故其字从片。封禅牒虽用玉，其制宜与竹同，广厚五寸。何名简牒？又按《孝经·钩命决》云：“六经册长尺四寸，孝经册长尺二寸。”遍检古之简牒，无尺三寸之制。臣等参详典故，务取折衷，春玉牒请同玉简册，长尺二寸，广寸二分，厚三分，以金绳连编，固简之数，随文多少，盛之玉匮，封牒石内，则合古文，于事为允。
