【陽曲令周君墓表】

君諱鼎，字器之，姓周氏，世為定襄人。曾大父萬，力田為業。大父慶嗣，字榮甫，通《六經》，教授鄉里者六七十年，鄉人尊之。父丕顯，字著明，質直尚義，好交結四方。獲鹿世家，有以女婢誘陝右饑民為贅婿者，歲既久，並所生男女皆奴之。贅婿單弱，無以自解。著明冤之，示以文法及訴訟次第，累為有司所直，準生女從母，其餘皆奪為良。嘗自言：「吾後世當有興者。」君，其長子也。

幼穎悟，未十歲，大父教之《六經》，應童子舉。平陽宿儒畢晉卿愛其風骨，謂當有所成，許之親授賦學。年十六，即辭家從之。又二年，取平陽解名。三赴廷試，貞祐乙亥程嘉善榜內登第。釋褐征事郎、五台主簿。未幾，丁母王氏艱。太原行元帥府事翟德升雅知君名，以便宜起復定襄丞。

時中原受兵，所在殘毀，民人保聚，多為脅從。君時佩銀符，兼義軍彈壓，以為軍力不足備敵，而人無所逃死，豈樂為背逆？凡所詿誤者，一切貸之，縣民賴以全活者甚眾。明年，遷陽曲

君名鼎，字器之，姓周氏，世代为定襄人。曾祖父周万，以努力耕田为业。祖父周庆嗣，字荣甫，通晓《六经》，在乡里教授六七十年，乡人尊敬他。父亲周丕显，字著明，质朴正直崇尚义气，喜欢结交四方之人。获鹿世族，有把女婢诱骗陕西饥民做赘婿的，年岁既久，连同所生男女都奴役他们。赘婿孤单弱小，无法自解。著明为他们伸冤，把法律条文和诉讼程序告诉他们，屡次被官府判为有理，准许所生女随母，其余都夺回为良民。曾自己说：“我的后世应当有兴旺的人。”君，是他的长子。

幼年聪颖悟性高，不到十岁，祖父教他《六经》，应童子举。平阳宿儒毕晋卿喜爱他的风骨，说应当有所成就，答应亲自传授赋学。年十六，就辞家跟从他。又过二年，取得平阳解名。三次赴廷试，贞祐乙亥程嘉善榜内登第。释褐征事郎、五台主簿。不久，遭母王氏丧。太原行元帅府事翟德升素知君之名，以权宜起复为定襄丞。

当时中原遭兵祸，所在残破毁坏，百姓聚众自保，多为胁迫跟从。君当时佩银符，兼义军弹压，认为军力不足以防备敌人，而人无处逃死，难道乐意背逆？凡被牵连误入者，一概宽免，县民赖以保全活命的很多。次年，迁阳曲
