潮州刺史謝上表

臣某说：臣冒犯刑章，合当万死，曲蒙慈贷，特赐再生。仍假分符，更承宠授，感恩待罪，心魂战越。在九月十一日到州上任完毕，臣某诚惶诚恐顿首顿首。臣凡贱末品，非才冒荣，虚忝国恩，实昧朝典。尸荣无补，公责所归，私下自循省，早宜谴黜。永思光顾，未答殊私，暂负至深，衷惶靡及。陛下以大圣承统，以至明照临，孝思感于天地，俭德齐于尧禹。道在还淳，化先无事，臣应进贤以报国，同力以守公。而竟轻奏忠良，苟循愚执，岂非臣褊心失措，躁遽而然，也是速戾之时，迷误至此。负恩至重，自孽何逃？处以严刑，犹未逭责。岂谓特回宸断，俯降天慈，怜臣蠢愚，悯臣孤弱，全其将朽之骨，复其已逝之魂。使奉藩条，获从职守，悚愑惧荷，不知所图。臣自辞阙庭，深省罪衅，未曾顷刻，辄忘悔尤。终朝再驰，每怀惩戒，终夜不寐，每思兢惭。尚偷余生，誓将改过，敢惜微命，以自怀安，敬励丹诚，庶答鸿覆。况且亲人之寄，在远尤切，谨当宣扬圣化，慰抚海隅，少安疲甿以展微效。伏以差使上谢，有亏格文，跼蹐忧惶，不敢专擅。无任恳迫之至，谨附本道观察使便使奉表陈谢以闻。
